Pakistan is now a days is under sever attack of Dengue Fever. Though its history goes back to two hundred years ago, but in Pakistan it appears in 2006, for the first time. Unfortunately it had never been handled seriously, resulting as an epidemic this year. The province of Punjab and especially its capital Lahore city is under its sever attack. Indications:
Low to High Temperature, Headache, Nausea, Sever Joints Pain, Flue, Cold fever, Red spots on the body, in kids it may cause diarrhoea too
Blood Test:
The number of blood platlets are recorded in dengue fever test. In normal man, the number of blood platlets varies from 15 million to 45 millions. The gradual falling of blood platlets is the common indication of Dengue Fever.
Treatment:
Unlike antibiotics, which control the attack of bacteria, there are no specific drugs which control the attack of viral pathogens. It is, however, the character of our body that when pathogens ( antigens) attack our body, as a response the body starts producing antibodies, which fight with antigens and kill them. Hence in this case, our immunal system controls itself the dengue viral attack. But, however, for normalizing temperature, the need is meet with Calpol (Paracetamol) tablets.
Precautionary Measures:
A common proverb: "Prevention is better than cure" is highly applicable against this disease. according to experts, 85% reproduction of dengue carrier mosquito takes place in common residential places. so controlling and correcting the favourable reproduvtive spots within residential places it can be controlled effectively, otherwise it is approximately impossible to control . keeping this point in mind following measures should be taken:
1) keep all pots, water tubs and other home apliances empty of water or other wise entirely coverd. female mosquito lays eggs on fresh water.
2) use of mosquito repellent sprays within and beyond homes.
3) keep clean enviroment. cleaniness is part of islamic education.
4) the affected people should limit their movements within the same locality. other wise they would be sources of virus dessemination from one place to other.
5) use fluids frequently in case of dengue attack. avoid antibiotic use.
6) while moving outside home, wear full cloths and apply mosquito repellents on the uncovered body parts.
